So what's this all about then?

All too often there are enquiries in newsgroups, chatrooms and travel forum along the lines of "I'm planning to spend a few days in Cardiff and South Wales. Where should I stay, and what's worth visiting".

These few pages are an attempt to give the visitor to Cardiff and South Wales a "local" view of where to stay, where to go and where to eat. It concentrates on Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, around the towns of Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Bridgend. It is not intended to be a comprehensive guide, and never will be. There is so much in South Wales that I can only touch upon a small amount of it. Instead it is intended to impart to the visitor the sort of information that can only be obtained by spending a few weeks in the area, and perhaps point you towards some of those places that you only chance upon during a short stay.

By its very nature this sort of information is purely subjective. Its inclusion is based purely upon my opinion, and the opinion of those people who have been kind enough to pass their comments on to me. Although I have tried to include areas of interest to suit all tastes, the information is biased towards my own personal experience of the area, and towards what I think visitors will enjoy.

South Wales is a brilliant place to visit, to live and work in, and this site hopes to give you a flavour of that.  Forget the images of coalmines and dirt and grime, South Wales has moved into the 21st century.  Come and see for yourself!
